African Violet - Standards

Standard refers to the size of a mature, single-crowned African violet cultivar with large leaves, which exceeds 8'' in diameter. A large standard can measure between 16'' and 24'' in diameter. Standard African violets grow best in a 2.5'' to 4'' pot. A general rule is that the pot should be one-third the diameter of the leaf span.
